We commissioned unique research into SA’s health needs and priorities to explore the best way to focus our future funding efforts.

This research, undertaken South Australian Health and Medical Research Institute and The Australian Centre for Social Innovation, gives a holistic snapshot of the state’s health system. The research provides facts around population health and insights into how people interact with the system.

Key opportunities arising from this research included:

  • The rise of dementia as a cause of death and the gaps in data and strategies for its prevention, delay and management.
  • Support from health consumers for a stronger focus on wellness rather than illness.

Read more about this research project and the findings in the Health Needs and Priorities in South Australia report. This research is informing our broader work including the Our Town program, which will provide long-term support for rural and remote communities on issues they identify.
